On a hot mid Summer evening at the Junior Sussex County Ground at Blackstone, Priory took on favourites Horsham in the NatWest U15 Twenty20 National Cup, County Final.
After winning the toss, Priory put Horsham into bat and bowled with accuracy and economy. Edmund Catt 3 for 18, Robbie Eyles 2 for 20, Elliot Hogan 1 for 20 and Tim Moses 1 for 26, each off 4 overs. With wicketkeeper Calum Waters providing a safe pair of hands behind the stumps, conceding no byes. Horsham finished on 114 for 7.
In reply, openers Sam Telford and Toby Cane saw off the Horsham opening bowlers allowing Jack Allsobrook to hit their spinners to all parts of the ground with a quick fire 28. This put Priory in a dominant position and with a stand of 64, Tim Moses 41 not out and Elliot Hogan (capt) 22 not out, saw the new County Champions home with 5 overs to spare.
Priory now face an away trip to the winners of the Kent competition on 25th July.
